It all started at Alta Ski Area— the kind of place where the snow is deep, the runs are steep, and the community is unmatched. That's exactly how we found each other.

Ryan and Ian — aka Steezeless Ryan and Ian the Ripper (both very much jokes) — met at open mic night at the Saloon, bonding over music and skiing.

One spring afternoon — March 23rd, 2026 (yeah, legit less than a month ago 😅) — they randomly crossed paths on the Goldminer's Daughter patio and, somewhere between beers and sunshine, decided to start a band.

The name? Screamin' Seaman came out of a joke around a bonfire the week after. Nothing better came along, so it stuck.

The first planned "rehearsal" turned into an actual live show at the Peruvian bar — shoutout to Leo for making it happen.

For those who don't know, a screamin' seaman is an old-school freestyle ski trick — you launch off a jump, cross your skis over each other mid-air so they're on the wrong sides, then untangle before you land. It's one of the scariest tricks in skiing because it goes against everything you're taught, and the consequences are real if you can't get uncrossed in time. Named after skier Chris Seemann, it's right up there with daffys, iron crosses, and spreads in the old-school trick book. Felt like the perfect name for a band born at Alta.

Our aim is simple — play great music, keep the vibe high, and make sure everyone has a damn good time. Thanks for being here today.
